Dr. Avas Khugaev is a physicist who worked as a Leading Scientist and headed the Laboratory of Multiparticle Systems at the Institute of Nuclear Physics, Uzbek Academy of Sciences in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He completed his undergraduate studies in theoretical astrophysics at Rostov-on-Don State University, Russia (1978–1983), and defended his PhD in nuclear physics in 1995. Over his career, he collaborated with various international institutions including Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna, Russia), CENBG (France), Yonsei and KAERI (South Korea), Aarhus University (Denmark), ECT (Italy), and IUCAA (India). He was invited for research stays and lectures in Germany, Bangladesh, and the United States, and was repeatedly awarded by DAAD, TWAS, NATO, and national science foundations for his contributions to theoretical and applied physics.
