Biography

Dr. Malik Abdul Rehman is a Pakistani research scientist who worked at the CNR – Institute of Materials (IOM) based at ESRF Grenoble, France. His research focused on 2D materials, graphene-based optoelectronics, solar energy devices, and nanoscale imaging technologies.

He earned a joint MS & Ph.D. in Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Engineering from Sejong University, South Korea, under the supervision of Prof. Yongho Seo. His doctoral research centered on the experimental study of directly grown graphene for photovoltaic devices, particularly the graphene-silicon Schottky junction.

He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics from COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad, where he developed a MOKE (Magneto-Optic Kerr Effect) measurement system.

His professional experience includes:

  1. Research Assistant at CNR-IOM, Italy/France (2021–2023)
  2. Postdoctoral Fellow at Yonsei University, South Korea (2020–2021)
  3. BK21 Scholar & Teaching Assistant at Sejong University (2015–2020)
  4. Research Associate at COMSATS, Pakistan (2012–2015)

He gained extensive hands-on expertise in graphene synthesis, AFM and SEM imaging, CVD and PVD techniques, solar cell characterization, and fabrication of nanoelectronic devices.
