Biography

Dr. Rasim Mutlu is a postdoctoral researcher in economics at Barcelona Graduate School of Economics and Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Lausanne in 2021, with a dissertation focusing on macroprudential and monetary policies in dollarized economies. He holds an M.A. in Economics from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in Economics from Bilkent University, where he graduated summa cum laude.

His research interests span international macroeconomics, macro-prudential policy, exchange rate crises, general equilibrium modeling, and Islamic finance. Dr. Mutlu has held academic roles in Lebanon, Vietnam, Switzerland, and the U.S., including lecturer and assistant professor positions. He also brings policy experience through roles at the World Bank, Islamic Development Bank, and Borsa Istanbul.
