Project Description
The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary research project focused on developing innovative solutions for microorganism contamination detection using advanced microsystems, nano-optics, and biosensing technologies.
The project is conducted in collaboration with the Department of Physics at Politecnico di Milano.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in microsystems and nano-optics
- Design, fabricate, and characterize micro/nano-scale devices
- Develop novel sensing approaches for microorganism detection
- Work in a stimulating interdisciplinary research environment
- Utilize state-of-the-art laboratory facilities
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics, or related fields
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated multidisciplinary mindset
- Background in one or more of the following areas is highly appreciated:
- Optics / Photonics
- Micro- and nanofabrication
- Biosensing or Bioengineering
- Signal Processing / Data Analysis
- Programming skills (MATLAB or similar)
- Excellent written and spoken English (mandatory)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with laboratory work and experimental design
- Familiarity with cleanroom processes
- Knowledge of biological systems or microbiology
