Project Description

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary research project focused on developing innovative solutions for microorganism contamination detection using advanced microsystems, nano-optics, and biosensing technologies.

The project is conducted in collaboration with the Department of Physics at Politecnico di Milano.

Main Responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative research in microsystems and nano-optics
• Design, fabricate, and characterize micro/nano-scale devices
• Develop novel sensing approaches for microorganism detection
• Work in a stimulating interdisciplinary research environment
• Utilize state-of-the-art laboratory facilities

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics, or related fields
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated multidisciplinary mindset
• Background in one or more of the following areas is highly appreciated:
  • Optics / Photonics
  • Micro- and nanofabrication
  • Biosensing or Bioengineering
  • Signal Processing / Data Analysis
• Programming skills (MATLAB or similar)
• Excellent written and spoken English (mandatory)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with laboratory work and experimental design
• Familiarity with cleanroom processes
• Knowledge of biological systems or microbiology
