Prof. Hamidreza Ghandvar is a professor of Materials Engineering at New Uzbekistan University (NUU), where he began his appointment in February 2022. He has a strong background in metallurgical and mechanical engineering with over a decade of academic and industrial experience.
Before joining NUU, he completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) (2019–2022), where he also served as a junior visiting researcher. His earlier roles included serving as a Quality and Assurance Control Expert at Elmo Sanat Kian Company in Iran and working as an English tutor in Johor, Malaysia.
He earned all his higher education degrees in engineering, including:
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Materials) from UTM
- Master’s degree in Mechanical-Materials Engineering from UTM
- Bachelor’s in Materials Engineering (Industrial Metallurgy) from Islamic Azad University of Isfahan, Iran
His research focuses on:
- Al and Mg alloys/composites
- Coatings and corrosion
- Wear and friction behavior
- Solidification and phase transformation
- Cooling curve thermal analysis (CCTA)
- Mechanical properties and fracture features
