Biography

Dr. Mohammad Tareq is a distinguished academic and researcher with extensive professional experience in accounting, finance, and information systems. His multidisciplinary expertise spans IFRS, financial accounting, managerial accounting, financial strategy, taxation, machine learning applications in finance, and human–technology interaction. Dr. Tareq is an Australian Government Endeavour Scholar and a Japanese Government Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Scholar. He earned his PhD in Accounting from RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia (AACSB accredited). Prior to his doctoral studies, he completed a Master’s degree at the Graduate School of Systems and Information Engineering at the University of Tsukuba, Japan. He also holds an MBA and a BBA in Accounting & Information Systems from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. With international academic, industry, and research experience spanning Australia, Japan, and Bangladesh, Dr. Tareq has made significant contributions to higher education, industry, and public policy development. He served as Deputy Project Manager for a World Bank–supported Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project and worked as a consultant for the World Health Organization’s ApartTogether Global Study, as well as for projects funded by Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (Germany).
