Biography

Prof. Bugra Caskurlu is a computer scientist with specialization in Artificial Intelligence, Algorithmic Game Theory, Computational Social Choice, and Approximation Algorithms. He began working as an Assistant Professor at TOBB University of Economics and Technology (Turkey) in 2014 and has been affiliated with both the Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Engineering departments. He also served as the Head of the Artificial Intelligence Department starting from 2022.

Before joining TOBB ETÜ, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at West Virginia University (USA) from 2010 to 2013. His academic journey began with a Bachelor's in Computer Engineering from Bilkent University (Turkey), followed by a Master’s and PhD in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (USA).

His teaching portfolio includes undergraduate and graduate-level courses on programming, algorithms, machine learning, social networks, and formal languages. He also supervises undergraduate and graduate research and actively mentors students, some of whom have gone on to pursue PhDs at institutions like Cornell University and University of Southern California.
